There are going to be times when you want to show someone something on your PlayBook and they aren't around, or the only way to explain an issue on your tablet is to e-mail someone the screen and show them exactly what you are seeing. This simple guide will show you the trick to taking a screenshot on your PlayBook.

We had previously covered how to take a screenshot on a BlackBerry smartphone, which required an application to be installed, settings to be properly setup, and customization features to be set. You will find the screenshot process on the PlayBook is much easier.

This time around we will not have to set up a convenience key, or set any app permissions. In fact, the keys are already set for us and the feature is built into the PlayBook's OS.

On top of the PlayBook you will see four buttons: a power button, a volume up, play/pause, and a volume down button.

To take a screenshot simply press the volume up and volume down keys at the same time. You should hear a camera shutter sound, indicating you have successfully taken a picture of your screen. If you don't hear anything, either you didn't press the keys at the same time, or the volume on your PlayBook is turned down.

To view any screenshots you have taken, go into the Pictures application on the PlayBook, and you should see the screenshots in the Camera section.

If you have connected your PlayBook to a BlackBerry smartphone via Bridge you can e-mail the screenshot directly from the PlayBook using the e-mail Bridge app, otherwise you will need to connect your PlayBook to a computer via USB or WiFi and view the files stored in the Camera folder on the PlayBook.
