Wow, it took almost 10 years and 3 billion miles, but NASA's New Horizons spacecraft finally made it to its destination: close enough to Pluto for some really detailed photos. We've only had composite images from Hubble until now, so these high-res photos are teaching scientists a lot about the dwarf planet, and making outer space fans excited for more information.
We're also discussing "Prime Day" over on Amazon, and how you can join in the deep sales for free if you don't have a Prime membership yet. Is there anything you're hoping to pick up during the event?
Lastly, there's a Columbian designer who's creating some special prosthetics for children. He spent time picking the brains of researchers and developers at Lego headquarters, and made a limb that not only has attachments for functional add-ons, but also sockets for creating robotic Lego sculptures that can be controlled just like the utility pieces. How's that for putting the "fun" in functional?
