Handspring removes OS update

Handspring has temporarily removed its update to the Palm operating system after a small number of Visor owners said the new software caused some programs to crash. A company representative said Wednesday that Handspring has taken down its update to Palm OS version 3.5.2. The problem has been identified, he said, and a new version should be up within days. The update was for the Visor Prism and Visor Platinum and offered minor improvements, such as improved handwriting recognition and the ability to sync with a PC using a modem. More information can be found on Handspring's Web site.
