Handspring offers DVD player with Treo

Handheld computer maker Handspring announced a promotion Tuesday to include a free DVD player with each Treo device sold through the company's Web site. The Treo, which combines wireless Internet and e-mail access with typical organizer functions, is Handspring's high-profile attempt to buck the declining market for handheld computers.

The DVD promotion applies to Treo 90, 270 and 300 models sold through Handspring's online store. Handspring said supplies of the DVD players--an Apex AD 1500 model that retails for around $110--are limited, but did not set an expiration date for the offer.
