Google and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum will be launching next week an initiative to bring attention to the ongoing crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan by using Google Earth technology to highlight the problem of genocide around the world.
The museum and Google plan to hold a news conference in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday with speakers including a Darfurian refugee, museum executives, Elliot Schrage, who is head of public affairs for Google and a former Bernard L. Schwarz Senior Fellow in Business and Foreign Policy at the New York-based Council on Foreign Relations.
