Futurama's New New York in glorious CGI

Futurama is officially over, but if there were to be a 3D CGI movie, one artist has shown us what it might look like.

There comes a time in the life of most TV series when it is time to say goodbye. For Futurama, that time was 2003, and then again in 2013 after it was revived for another three seasons. It's fairly safe to say that now its day is done.

If it were to come back again, though, we'd probably want it to look a little something like the world envisioned by Moscow-based digital artist Alexey Zakharov. Using 3Dsmax, After Effects, Nuke and Photoshop, he created a stunning animated clip of New New York as seen in the opening credits of the TV series.

And somehow, he managed to make it look like a futuristic utopia -- which isn't exactly, well, faithful, but does make New New York the kind of place we'd like to visit in a thousand years or so. And this is only Part 1, which means there may be more on the way.
