Disney Plus smash hit series The Mandalorian has won the (unfortunate) title of most-pirated TV show of 2020 -- via popular torrenting site BitTorrent.

According to an analysis from TorrentFreak reported by IndieWire, Game of Thrones was the most-pirated TV show for seven years running. But the HBO series ended in spring 2019, and The Mandalorian arrived that fall. The Mandalorian's first season pushed it to become the No. 3 most-pirated show in 2019. Then it shot up to No. 1 in 2020.

It's obviously not such a great achievement but reflects the popularity of the show and of Disney Plus, which crossed 80 million subscribers in December just 13 months after launch. By comparison, Netflix has 190 million subscribers after 13 years of streaming.

In second place for 2020 came the Amazon R-rated superhero series The Boys, one of Prime Video's most-viewed original shows. HBO sci-fi hit Westworld came in third. Amazon's Vikings nabbed fourth, CBS' Star Trek: Picard fifth, followed by Adult Swim's Rick and Morty, AMC's The Walking Dead, HBO's The Outsider, CW's The Arrow and CW's The Flash.
