In Star Trek: The Next Generation, the crew of the USS Enterprise encountered both hostile and friendly aliens, dangerous warp core meltdowns, Klingon run-ins, holodeck subplots and constant struggles with the Prime Directive.

However, sometimes the cast suffered from laughing fits, klutziness and slaphappy moments that can only be captured on a blooper reel.

Fans waiting patiently for the Dec. 2 Blu-ray release of Star Trek: The Next Generation were recently treated to a short blooper reel of the cast engaged in hilarious high jinks on the Enterprise and on away missions.

The reel starts out with a laugh attack from LeVar Burton, who plays Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge, and Brent Spiner, as Lieutenant Commander Data.

Then Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Gates McFadden as Doctor Beverly Crusher make their way down a steep dirt hill on an away mission.

But before they can say their lines, Dr. Crusher steps backward and injures Picard's foot. Picard gets bleeped for profanity then snaps back into action.

But the highlight of the gag reel is when a giddy Jonathan Frakes, as Commander William Riker, does a triple take and tries to say his lines in response to an off-camera Michael Dorn, who plays the Worf, the Klingon chief of security and tactical officer of the ship.

An overly caffeinated Riker yells, "What are you talking about?" to Worf, then sees a shipmate named Tracy and runs after her. Oh Riker, you sly dog you.
