Embed Instagram photos or videos on your Web site

Follow these quick steps to generate an embed code so you can easily share Instagram photos and videos on your own blog.

Embed Instagram is a tool brought to you from the Digital Inspiration blog. It is free, easy to use, and can add a 612x612 photo or video alongside your writing. You can also edit the dimensions if you need a smaller version to fit Web site formatting.

Step 1: Open Instagram in your Web browser and navigate to the photo or video you want to share. Copy the URL in the top address bar.

Step 2: Next, open a new tab and head to the Embed Instagram Web tool. Paste the URL in the box and click Generate Embed Code.

You may notice that the original description, hash tags, and username are included in the code -- they will also appear below the photo or video. Despite including these details, it's still a good idea to ask permission to use media that is not your own. Unfortunately, there's nothing stopping people from sharing your own public media.

Step 3: When you're ready to use the embed code, just paste it into the code editor for your Web site.

(Optional) Step 4: If you're embedding a photo, this is a good time to alter the width and height for stylistic purposes. As for videos, this Web tool uses HTML5 to ensure it will play on most devices.
