Don't get burned by bad Black Friday 'deals'

Black Friday becomes Black November, with Amazon and Newegg already starting promotions, invoking shopping panic. Meanwhile, Windows 10 updates get pushy, and a new "Star Trek" TV show is in the works.

Just as Halloween came to an end, Amazon gave us one fright to last all November: Black Friday sales have begun.

But not all "deals" are worthy of the name Black Friday. Watch CNET Update to learn why you should be wary of some early sales. And as Amazon beefs up Black Friday promotions, the retailer is shutting down two other parts of its business: Amazon Local, which competed with Groupon, and Amazon Register, a rival of Square.
