In time for the holiday shopping season, Dell's new Inspiron One 23 should charm at least a few shoppers with its friendly-looking design and an approachable $799 starting price. It also features a new touch software interface that organizes shortcuts to touch programs in a quick access, collage-style layout designed to make it easier to jump into touch-based input.

The Inspiron One 23 will appear in retail as well as on Dell's Web site where you can add the usual selection of custom options. Dell will be offering upgrades to a Blu-ray drive, an AMD quad-core CPU, and hard drives up to 1TB. The standard configuration will be more of a dual-core, DVD burning setup, but all models will have an HDMI input among its ports, a crucial feature for using your all-in-one as a one-stop, game-console-or-cable-box-connected entertainment center.
