Death by Drupal pie

What would Drupal be like if you baked it into a pie? I found out tonight.

Drupal Pie
Matt Asay

In honor of Dries Buytaert and Drupal, tonight I experimented with a new pie. I'm calling it "Drupal Pie" because Dries lives in Belgium, land of chocolate, and I'll be having lunch with him on Monday in Brussels.

The pie actually started out as a chocolate hazelnut pie (which was the initial reason for thinking of Brussels, where hazelnut dominates the pralines throughout the city), but my son really wanted some and he informed me he didn't want nuts in it. (I think he just liked the chocolate crust, which I made by mixing cocoa powder into the sweet cream crust and adding baker's sugar until it sweetened.)

To appease my son on the filling, I started improvising. Replace nuts with a a cup-and-a-half of whipping cream and 1/4 cup of flour (to solidify the cream when baking). Drizzle the top with melted chocolate and butter. And so on.

The result? A pie so rich and tasty that my mouth wouldn't stop eating it until my brain screamed, "Stop! Call 9-1-1!"

Drupal pie. It's a new favorite in the neighborhood. I gave half to a neighbor to keep my family from going into a sugar coma. Last time I checked, the neighbor was face down in the pie, drooling into the chocolate-cream ambrosia.
