Danger snags first European partner

Start-up company Danger announced Monday that its hiptop device will be available in Europe through German carrier E-Plus. Danger created the hiptop device as a means of providing a hardware platform to carry its software and services.

Beginning in November, the combination device--which can wirelessly make phone calls, surf the Web and check e-mail--will cost about 249 euros (about $290), with initial flat-rate service at 19.95 euros (about $23.27) per month. E-Plus is the third-largest cell phone provider in Germany, with more than 8 million customers, according to the company.
