CNET UK Podcast 116: Apple gives up on Macworld

This week, Ian, Nate and Rich discuss Apple abandoning Macworld, Microsoft falling over itself to fix a problem and we applaud some ingenuity applied to track down a stolen Xbox 360

This week, the CNET UK Podcast reaches the dizzying heights of episode 116. To celebrate such as auspicious occasion, Rich, Nate and Ian discussed the week's news, cravings and answered some listener questions.

We were surprised to hear that some Amazon UK warehouse staff are a touch unhappy with their working conditions. Apparently unrealistic targets and 14 miles of walking a day upset employees.

We also learnt that Australians are being served serious legal papers via Facebook. We found ourselves angered by the news that an MP has claimed his iPod back on expenses, despite earning a substantial salary. And there was excitement in the microblogging community as Jonathan Ross started twittering.

We also applauded Microsoft moving quickly to patch a massive Internet Explorer venerability and berated it for being so stupid in the first place. We're harsh like that.

The biggest news of the week though, was the news that Steve Jobs won't be delivering his regular sermon at this year's Macworld, and the company will pull out of the show entirely in 2010.

In Crave, Ian celebrated a £3,500 5.1 speaker system, Nate got his drum on and Rich celebrated a white dSLR.

As always, we answered some of your questions from our forum. If you'd like to ask your friendly CNET experts a question, you can do so in the relevant forum. You can also give podcast-specific feedback in the Podcast Lounge.

Despite what we said at the end of this show, episode 117 will actually hit your feed reader on 2 January. We hope you have an amazing Christmas and a phenomenal New Year.
