Cirrus buys DVD chipmaker

Cirrus Logic, which makes chips for consumer electronics, has announced an agreement to acquire Fremont, Calif.-based LuxSonor Semiconductors for about $65 million in stock. LuxSonor, which makes DVD-video processors and audio-video semiconductors, will add to Austin, Texas-based Cirrus' growing DVD-related business.
