Interested in checking out photos from specific places around the world, or even locally? Then this app is for you.

Despite having an official mobile client available for Instagram, there are still a lot of third-party apps out there for viewing photos from the service. Instamap, one of the alternative clients, offers a feature not yet present in the official app: finding photos by geotag. Think of Instamap as Instagram meets Google Maps -- a lovely pairing.

Grab a copy of Instamap for Android. After installing, open the app and choose whether or not to use your Instagram account when browsing photos around the world. If you sign in, then you can Like or comment on photos, as well as follow and browse the feeds of other users.

When opening the app, you'll see a map of your current location. If GPS is disabled on your device, you may need to enable it before the map loads.

There aren't many bells and whistles that come with Instamap, just a few touch buttons along the bottom of the app's interface. You can refresh the current map, jump to a different city in the world, pinpoint your location with GPS, and search for a different location (city, state, country).

Checking out photos from around the world can be a great source of inspiration or just a great way to pass time for curious eyes.
