Breakthrough: Order Pizza Hut from your Xbox

Why didn't anyone think of this before? Pizza Hut's new Xbox app allows you to order pies with the wave of your hand.

There it is. In social. Where else?

It's well-known that pizza helps gamers' concentration. It allows them to shoot more accurately and endure more obdurately.

Pizza and gaming go together like fish and chips in England or plates and large portions in America.

Previously, though, whenever gamers had to order pizza, their concentration was destroyed. They had to use ancient machines, like their phones and laptops, to get that pepperoni knocking on their apartment door. In the name of progress, Pizza Hut and Microsoft decided to get together in a darkened room and chew over a new salvation.

Please, without letting go of your controls, welcome the Pizza Hut Xbox app.

As Polygon reports, the delight of this edifying idea is that you can link your Xbox account with your Pizza Hut account.

You also can integrate it with your Kinect, which means you can wave your hand, twitch your nose, raise an eyebrow, or snort (or whatever it is that Kinect operatives do to "Play Fit") and a cheese-and-dough delivery will hurtle toward you as fast as those enemy combatants on your video screen.

Xbox's Larry Hryb told Polygon: "We're always looking at ways to give our audience more of what they're interested in. If you look at our audience, they love pizza. I mean, who doesn't?"

The app became available today in the United States, and already there is palpable excitement for Pizza Hut's competitors to step their games.

Consider the emotions expressed by one Polygon commenter who said: "Dominos, please follow suit and save me from s**tty pizza with your slightly less s***ty pizza. I am too fat and lazy to order conventionally."

I foresee EA, desperate to get back into gamers' good books, creating a new game in which pizza companies fight to the death to provide the best pizza experience for gamers.

I feel confident it will be a big seller.
