Research in Motion, maker of the popular BlackBerry wireless e-mail device, and AvantGo announced an alliance to bring Web-based data and corporate applications to large corporations. AvantGo provides infrastructure software and services for wireless networks. The companies also plan to jointly market future products and services to enterprise clients. Last week, Research In Motion cut a deal with IBM, allowing Big Blue's Global Services division customers to use the two-way wireless pagers while integrating the device with corporate intranets. Research in Motion has also made a
push into the consumer market with pagers that handle AOL instant messages and e-mail.
