Bill Gates does the splits in DJing stint (really)

Appearing with Jimmy Fallon, the Microsoft co-founder proves he can club it with the best of them.

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

Bill Gates, a natural DJ. Well, almost.

Bill Gates has been everywhere this week.

He's been telling people he supports the FBI against Apple. He's been telling people that he doesn't really support the FBI against Apple, but maybe. He's been interviewed by Charlie Rose.

These episodes, though, were all in his comfort zone.

When he appeared with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday's "Tonight Show," Gates was out of his element.

For in saying he'd do anything to publicize GatesLetter.com, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's annual state-of-the-world appeal to human sense, he was forced to make strange faces with his mouth.

This is because he had to show off his DJing skills.

DJs have to express something. In Gates' case, he jigged up and down, he wiggled his lips and he held a headphone to his ear.

Then, wearing a fetching pink sweater, he parted the waves of adoring clubbers, leaped into the air and performed the splits.

This wasn't all. He danced with his wife and then revealed there was another pink-sweatered Bill Gates lurking inside his mouth.

How can you not watch all that?

Gates has often shown himself to be ready for amusement, even if he might look slightly awkward while participating in it. There again, he was quite brilliant in the much-maligned but quite stellar Microsoft ads he did with Jerry Seinfeld.

I wonder whether people might listen to his very important messages even more if he went on tour and did a DJing stint in every city.

Tonight. For One Hour Only. DJ Pearly Gates.
