For Best Buy, Black Friday starts early this year.

Electronics chain Best Buy is trying to whet the appetite of holiday shoppers by revealing Black Friday deals, and it's already offering several products for sale.

On Tuesday, the retailer launched a site previewing its Black Friday specials with 27 pages worth of discounts. At Best Buy, Black Friday will start at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The retailer is also offering eight deals on November 10 to lure in buyers way ahead of time.

For consumers, Black Friday is a chance to pick up products for themselves or for others at often heavily discounted prices. For retailers, it is one of the most critical days of the year, accounting for a significant percentage of their sales. Last year, 87 million people shopped on Black Friday, according to the National Retail Federation. Best Buy's preview is a way to give customers a head start and to tempt them to spend at its stores and website.

Some of the deals up for grabs on November 10 include:

Best Buy is also offering sales on a couple of TVs, a soundbar and a security camera. The November 10 deals are good until supplies last or at 11:59 p.m. local time on November 11.

For the actual Black Friday weekend, almost 1,000 Best Buy stores will open at 5 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving Day, remain open until 1 a.m. on Friday and then reopen a few hours later at 8 a.m. The stores will open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

People who'd rather shop online will find almost every item listed in the Black Friday ad available at BestBuy.com throughout Thanksgiving Day, with more deals popping up the entire weekend. Online buyers will receive free shipping with no minimum purchase required and be able to receive their purchase by mail or pick it up at their local Best Buy store.

Thanksgiving Day will offer some of the same deals available on November 10, but these will be "doorbuster" deals. Tickets are passed out for "doorbuster" items up to two hours before stores open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening. Once the store opens, you present your ticket to pick up your doorbuster item.

Two other Black Friday deals are $500 for a Samsung 40-inch LED 1080p HDTV, Xbox One gaming console and The LEGO Movie videogame combo package; and $120 off an 11.6-inch MacBook Air. The Black Friday deals also are part of the "doorbuster" promotion. Tickets will be passed out again Friday morning before stores open at 8 a.m.

The doorbuster deals for Thursday and Friday are good until supplies last or stores close on each particular day.

Four deals will also be in place throughout the weekend with the exception of Sunday, notably:

  • Up to $100 off certain models of the Apple Watch.
  • $100 for Sony Wireless Around-Ear Headphones, a savings of $100.
  • $50 Best Buy gift card with purchase of the Nest Thermostat.
  • $30 off a Nest Cam.
