There's been an awakening. Have you beeped and booped it?
A new commercial for a few of the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Lego kits came out on Friday, and the clip both gives a better sense of what BB-8 will sound like in the film and shows the rolling ball droid in action as it escapes the clutches of Kylo Ren.
" Star Wars: The Force Awakens" lands in theaters in December.
The video gives us our first good look at pilot Poe Dameron's awesome-looking black X-wing, as well as Kylo Ren's custom Command Shuttle that will be featured among the handful of upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Lego sets scheduled to go on sale later this year.
In the short clip, Kylo Ren is on the attack, first with his cross-guard lightsaber and then with his shuttle, as he attempts to capture BB-8 and what we can only assume is the droid's very valuable payload.
Fortunately, BB-8 is a crafty rolling droid who beeps and boops his way out of danger until Poe Dameron is able to maneuver his X-wing to rescue BB-8 from the clutches of Kylo Ren just in time.
No official release date for these and the other "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Lego sets has been revealed, though we expect we'll learn more this Friday, aka "Force Friday, during the 18-hour-long livestream of on the official "Star Wars" YouTube channel.
