Sorry we weren't around yesterday -- Ashley was sick! We're back today, though, and we've got a full show of fun stories and topics for you. First, we'll discuss a team of former NASA engineering interns who created a prototype glider that might someday hitch a ride to Mars on a future rover mission. They're still figuring out how to squeeze the glider's wings into a CubeSat, but we have every confidence they'll figure it out.
There's an interesting little Kickstarter in town, and we decided to talk about it today, since we didn't do a crowdfunding story on Monday. It's called "Bartesian," and its sole purpose is to create cocktails for folks ready to party. It's similar to a Keurig, but instead of brewing you a cup of joe, you'll end up with a martini, margarita or one of four other types of beverages to enjoy.
Lastly, we love how absolutely crazy this idea is: a lamp that stores energy via solar panel, sells that energy back to the grid and then takes its profits and invests them into the stock market for you. Yes, this is a lamp that could, in essence, make you some cash over time. It might also lose everything, but we hope that if it ever actually comes to consumers, we can choose how risky it is.
We're also quickly discussing our thoughts on Apple Music and Beats 1 Radio, if you're interested!
