Bandai Namco VR Zone opens next month, features virtual 'experiences' (Tomorrow Daily 340)

Bandai Namco's plans for an immersive virtual-reality "experience center" in Tokyo; also, Google Research lets 14 robotic arms teach themselves how to grip and lift various objects.

Bandai Namco will open up a virtual-reality "experience center" in a couple of weeks, featuring six VR demos coupled with real-life additions to the rooms to help immerse visitors in each simulation. You know, just in case VR wasn't real *enough* for you.

We're also checking out an experiment conducted by Google Research, where the team attempted to let 14 robotic arms teach themselves how to grab and pick up different kinds of objects. It's a narrow experiment, but researchers hope to take the results and information from it and apply it to broader studies in the future.
