Asus delivers low-price 27-incher

CNET reviews the Asus VE276Q.

Another day, another 27-inch monitor. Josh P. Miller/CNET

Monitors that are 27 inches have been receiving a whole mess of hype lately. What, with the Apple LED Cinema Display (27-inch, 2010) launch last week and this new comparison of the best 27-inch monitors, someone posted today, I literally have 27-inch monitors falling out of my ears. Well not literally.

The Asus VE276Q is the latest in our series of unplanned (really) 27-inch monitor reviews. It's not an advanced 27-incher like the Apple and Dell UltraSharp U2711, which each has a 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution. Instead, the Asus, like the BenQ M2700HD, is comfy rocking a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels. Because of this, it's also priced a lot lower than the higher-end 27-inchers.

For the sake of fairness, we compared it with the BenQ. Find out how it fared (heh...) in the full review.

For monitors in other sizes (and some additional 27-inchers), be sure to make your way to the monitor hub.
