All aboard the poop bus, now farting around the UK

A bus in the UK is fueled by biomethane gas, which is produced by both food and human waste. But how bad does it actually smell?

Yep, you see that right. This bus runs on gas created by human poop.GENeco

If you've always found riding the bus to be, well, a crappy experience, do we have the bus for you.

The GENeco Bio-Bus runs on biomethane gas produced by, you guessed it, actual human waste (and food waste, but that's way less fun to talk about).

The Bio-Bus, which made its maiden voyage in England this month, seats up to 40 people. The bus can travel up to 186 miles on a single tank of gas that "takes the annual waste of around five people to produce," GENeco said in a statement. Fortunately for riders, the bus itself doesn't actually smell like a bathroom, as impurities in the biofuel are removed to reduce -- or almost entirely eliminate -- any odors in the vehicle's emissions.

Running on biomethane gas helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by almost 90 percent compared with gasoline, and about 30 percent compared to diesel, the BBC reports, which means the poop-running Bio-Bus is great for the environment, too. The Bio-Bus is being operated by the Bath Bus Co. and this week started following a route from Bath to the Bristol Airport in the UK -- if you just have to ride the poop bus for yourself.

Yep, your poop can power a bus and save the environment at the same time. It's win-win.
