After Dallas shootings, ex-congressman tweets threat of war against Obama

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

Chaos reigns.

At least four police officers are dead after snipers shoot down upon them in Dallas during a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest, following the shootings of two black men by police officers in Louisiana and Minnesota.

More officers are injured. Video streams live on Facebook.

An image of a suspect is tweeted by Dallas Police Department, though it's unclear if he is at all complicit.

Meanwhile, former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh took to Twitter to apparently threaten the president.

In a tweet since removed, but captured by some, he wrote: "3 Dallas Cops killed. 7 wounded. This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming after you."

Real America, I suspect, is looking at all these images of death, holding its collective breath and begging for something meaningful to be done.

For Walsh, though, this was the time to spread verbal violence.

More Technically Incorrect

In one tweet, he called for Black Lives Matter to be classified as a hate group. In another, he offered: "10 Cops shot. You did this Obama. You did this liberals. You did this #BLM. Time to defend our Cops. Wake up."

While others raged against his rage or tried to offer calm (as possible) rebuttal, Walsh continued to tweet rabid assertions, such as: "4 Dallas Cops assassinated tonight. Blacks lives matter cheers. LGBT blames Christians. Obama defends Islam."

Walsh is known for his extreme views, such as suggesting that electing President Obama was "the single greatest act of racism in American history."

Walsh didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

As criticism rained down upon him for his threatening tweets, he countered: "I wasn't calling for violence, against Obama or anyone. Obama's words & BLM's deeds have gotten cops killed. Time for us to defend our cops."

Real America, I suspect, has had enough of violence. Instead, it mourns and wonders whether all this senseless invective and shooting will ever stop.
