Access repair guides on your mobile device

Smartphones and tablets can make repair work much easier, but only with access to the right information. iFixit is a great site full of repair and troubleshooting manuals, and its app is perfect for DIY work.

Figuring out what's wrong with electronics or appliances and then fixing your problems is much easier with the right guide. Your smartphone or tablet can be that guide when you install iFixit. Here's how to use it:

  1. Download iFixit ( Android | iOS.
  2. Browse through the listings until you find the category you're looking for. Unfortunately, there's no search function yet, so you may have to dig.
  3. You can also select the "Answers" or "Info" tab for more esoteric or generic stuff.

Unfortunately, you can't add your own guides or info through the app yet, but for most of us, that's a feature that can wait. And, of course, you're out of luck if it's your smartphone or tablet that's on the fritz!
