Not everybody can be so fortunate as to land a role in a "Jurassic Park" movie, but you can still foster that sense of impending dino-doom by outfitting your shower with an outstanding piece of 3D-printed cosplay. The T-Rex Shower Head is the creation of Thingiverse user Jonathan Schwartz, a product manager at 3D printer producer MakerBot.

Schwartz printed his working prototype out using PLA plastic, and chose the eye-catching orange color because it was all he had on hand to work with. The unnatural brightness of it only helps to add to the bizarre nature of the creation. If you're going to have a T. rex shower head, you might as well have a DayGlo-colored T. rex shower head. The prototype took 16 hours to print.

The files to make your own roaring T. rex skull with water spitting out of its throat are available as a free download at Thingiverse. The design is made to fit on a standard 0.5-inch shower head pipe. Schwartz recommends picking up a swiveling adapter if you want to be able to move the head around and point the teeth in different directions. He also used a 50-percent infill setting while printing to keep it water-tight. A little teflon tape will help seal the shower head to the pipe.

Once you've printed out and attached the T. rex shower head, you might want to start in on other fixtures in your bathroom. Consider making a mini velociraptor skull to hold your toothbrush. The crowning achievement would be printing out a Dreadnoughtus schrani skull to replace your existing toilet seat. Then, every trip to the loo would be an adventure back in time.
