ZTE BladeAt CES 2011, Jessica Dolcourt takes a First Look at the ZTE Blade.
-This is Jessica Dolcourt from CNET.com coming at you from CES 2011 in Las Vegas where I have in my hands the ZTE Blade. This is an Android smartphone. Even though it has not been officially announced, we do actually have our hands on it. That's how resourceful we are. This phone has been released globally and the plan is for ZTE to try to find a home for it with a US carrier. So, here are some of the things that we can expect from it. Currently, it's running Android 2.1, the operating system, but it is upgradable to Android 2.1 (that's Froyo). One thing is that it does have a stock Android interface which is something that we're seeing a little bit more of this time and at this show. It has a 3.5-inch touchscreen. There is a 3.2-megapixel camera on the back and up to 32 gigabytes of external storage behind the back cover right here. So, the specs are pretty much mid-range or entry-level right now, but what is interesting is that this is ZTE's first smartphone foray into the US when that happens. ZTE traditionally shows a lot of feature phones in the US and this is something that we have been hoping to see for a long time. So, we'll welcome it when it comes and we'll get an even more detailed hands-on a little bit litter. Again, I'm Jessica Dolcourt for CNET.com taking a first look at the ZTE Blade.
