Yale's new doorbell cam lets you see who's ringing
Hey, I'm here at Cedia in Dallas, a big audio visual tech conference.
But we're also checking out some of the smarthome tech that's here, including the new Yale Look Door Viewer.
It's right here, and it's a Video doorbell and viewer for your front door, so people can ring that doorbell, you can look at them through that camera, and it actually connects to a wired accessory on the back of your door.
And there's no touchscreen, there's no controls so you can see who's outside You can talk to them with two way audio, it's also wi-fi enabled so that you can see all of that on your phone, and get a notification if someone's at the door while you're not home.
Now the Yale Look Door Viewer's gonna cost about $170 when it debuts in October, Later on by Christmas time Yale's going to be releasing a separate version that also has z waves built in so that you can connect it with smart things or with control four, any system that uses z waves to gather smart phone gadgets into one system.
So that's something to watch for here as you come into the holiday buying season.
Here at CDS I'm Cnet's Ry Crist.
