Apple's keyboard in iOS 8 has a new look and a few new features and one of these features are these text suggestions that pop up at the top of the keyboard while you're typing.
If you find these more annoying than helpful here's how to get rid of them.
First, if you just want to temporarily hide these all you have to do is swipe them down.
And now you can type away without any suggestions.
A swipe back up will bring them back if you decide you could use a little help.
If you wanna go a step further, you can disable predictive text entirely by going into settings > general > keyboard, and then switch off the setting for predictive.
That's all there is to it.
