Toshiba's new Kira: an ultra-premium ultrabookHands on with the Retina-like Toshiba Kirabook
Hi. Dan Ackerman, and we are taking a hands on look at the Kirabook from Toshiba, part of Toshiba's new high-end Kira line. This is a 13-inch laptop. It looks a little bit like a cross between a Retina MacBook Pro and maybe a MacBook Air and it actually has a very Retina-like feature. That's a 2560 x 1440 display. That's something you're not gonna find on any laptop outside of, let's say, the Google Pixel or the Retina MacBook Pro. And of course, you're gonna pay a Retina-like price for it. This thing starts at $15.99 and that's without a touch screen. Add another hundred box for a touch screen, and you go all the way up to $1999 if you want to trade up to a faster processor. Are people willing to pay that much of a premium for a laptop that doesn't really maybe look like a $2000 laptop? I guess we'll find out when this comes out in May. I'm Dan Ackerman and that is the Toshiba Kirabook.
