These tough phones don't need cases
Hey everybody, welcome to Top 5. Smart phones are awesome and they get thinner and faster, but not all are tough.
These are the top five tough phones that don't need a case.
At number five, the LG G Flex 2. Remember this guy.
It got a 5.5 inch curve screen.
In case you worried about bending your pocket.
LG G FLEX 2 is flex phone app to be flattened without damaging the phone.
On the back is a self healing coating.
So everyday scratches disappear.
At number four the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge.
These are the top of the line phones from a leader in the industry.
They both sport great looking designs.
They're both super powerful and have great cameras.
And the Samsung Galaxy S7 line is water resistant up to five feet.
For up to 30 minutes.
It's not a super tough phone.
But it should be able to survive if you get stuck in the rain.
At number three there's Xiaomi Mi 5. It's an Android phone out of China.
Which is not available in the US.
What's tough about it?
Its ceramic back.
The folks over at Crazy Video Tested out how tough it was.
Attempting to drill the back of the phone led to no damage this thing.
At number two, the Droid Turbo 2. It's also known as the Moto X Force.
Whatever you call it, this phone says it has the world's first shatterproof screen.
So you know what we had to do.
We had to test it.
We dropped it off a ladder.
We had a machine drive over it.
And that screen stayed great.
What killed the Droid Turbo 2 in our tests?
A pickaxe wielded by a CNET Editor of fury.
Punctured the rear of the device.
Was led to a smoking battery.
And at number one, the CAT S60.
This upcoming phone is supposed to be super tough.
We got to take a look at it at Mobile World Congress 2016.
The CAT S60 can handle a fall onto concrete From the height of 1.8 meters.
That's about 5.9 feet.
It can also handle being submerged at a depth of 5 meters, that's about 16 feet for as long as an hour.
One more thing.
This insane phone, is the first phone with thermal imaging built in.
