CNET First Look
The Samsung Portable SSD T3 is one tough cookieThis fast, rugged portable drive is such a tough cookie it's practically a choking hazard. CNET editor Dong Ngo warns you not to eat it.
[MUSIC] Hi guys, this is the Portable SSD T3 from Samsung, which is the replacement or the upgrade to the T1. The question is, why is it not T2? Well I have no idea. But maybe it's because it has three things different. From the first one. Now the first thing is the design. You could look here the T3 is a bit bigger now but it's made out of aluminum. So it's harder and very [UNKNOWN]. So make sure you tell your boyfriends or girlfriends it's not a piece of chocolate Token housing. Secondly, it uses a USB C Connector here which is a big deal because you can plug the cable in any other way. You also make the drive here work with some of the Android tablets, and it'll also work with all exiting computer. Think of USB C to regular SPA cable here. It has up to 2TB of storage space Double that of the T1. So basically I have in my beautiful hand here the most compact yet largest portable drive on the market. Amazing. But other than that the T3 is very similar to the T1 with the same type of solid state storage on the inside and the same kind of performance. Fast that is. Now the T3 is available in four capacities, from 250 gigabytes to 2 terabytes and costs from $130 to $850. For more on this one here, check out my full review at CNET.com. But basically if you loved the T1 You will love the T3 and now have the [UNKNOWN] to love my hands too, admit it. And not because I've touched it but because [UNKNOWN] this has been the first look at the portable SSD, T3, from Samsung.
