The hitchhiking robot known as Hitch Bot was found murdered and mutilated after just two weeks
Hitchhiking in the United States.
HitchBot had managed to complete a few trips across Canada, Germany and the Netherlands before it was murdered and dismembered by some crazy Americans in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia.
So what did we learn from the HitchBot that we didn't already know?
Hitchhiking is very dangerous and you should avoid hitchhiking when at all possible.

Famed actor Patrick Stewart is lending his star power to a program to collect whale snot using drones.
Stewart has teamed up with the Ocean Alliance and the Olin College of Engineering to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds
For Snotbot to conduct research on whales.
Snotbot drones are designed to hover safely above the whale and collect samples of the blow expelled from their lungs in a way that won't harass or disturb the whale in any way according to Dr. Iain Kerr The CEO of Ocean Alliance in the Kickstarter video.
The whale snot contains so many things that are useful to the study of marine life, such as DNA samples, viruses, bacteria, and environmental toxins that are analysed to see how we can improve the health of the whales being studied, as well as the environment they inhabit.

A 3-D printing genius is producing some extremely tiny working power tools.
Lance Abernethy uses on shape design software to produce mini working models of power tools that are printed out using an Ultimaker 2 3-D printer.
So far in his tool collection, he has created a mini cordless drill complete with a carrying case, a power button, and a tiny spinning drill bit.
But even more impressive is this circular saw, which also has its own carrying case and a protective finger guard so you don't saw your pinky finger off.
So you got the full video on the Crave blog post, and props to Lance for the impressive hand modelling Lexus finally released some details of their much-anticipated Lexus hoverboard called Slide on Wednesday, and the Internet was both excited about it and a little bummed out.
Fortunately for all of us who dream about a hoverboard we can cruise around town on That dream is still a long ways out from becoming a reality.
Lexus built a custom skate park in Barcelona, Spain for the Slide hoverboard which contains magnets embedded in the skate surface.
The Lexus hoverboard, much like the Hendo hoverboard we checked out last year, requires a conductive surface to hover properly.
What we saw in the video published by Lexus on August [INAUDIBLE] With the hoverboard riding on magnetic tracks under the ground.
Unfortunately the slide hoverboard is not for sale but come on!
It's still really cool.
You just have to build a bunch of magnet taped hoverboard parks.
