The HP Pavilion m6 borrows some of Envy's high-end designThis near-ultrabook packs in processing and graphics power, along with an optical drive, at a reasonable price.
I'm Dan Ackerman and we are here taking a look at the HP pavilion and six. That is the new entry in HP's mainstream price pavilion line and when I first heard about the system a couple months ago and checked out an early version of it. It would seem pretty impressive on paper what they did was they took a lot of via. Features and a lot of the design elements of the more expensive envy line of HP laptops. And they brought him down to the more budget conscious pavilion line to -- that seem like a great idea. In this case. It's called the M six because it's a fifteen point six inch screen which basically means -- coffee and five but the coffee and six that's okay. In a fairly -- -- -- quite an ultra book but it's generally in the same category. And in this particular build. We've got a discrete graphics card to me indeed I -- an optical drive and have a pretty decent Intel Core I five CPU it's all -- sounds. Pretty good as -- or something that looks almost as good as -- more expensive envy laptops. But starts at 699 with -- -- as I told -- about this particular bill is more like 900 dollars. And that's -- it starts to get a little tricky. HP's envy laptops are already so inexpensive now. You can pretty much get one of those for about the same price you could spend a little bit more and get an HP envy fifteen that's a bit more of bulky. MacBook Pro style laptop or you spent about the same amount and get the F fourteen or fifteen inch and the ultra books. -- you're trading away the optical drive which you may not need that you do get to us -- better construction better overall build quality. -- it's really dvd optical drive. Or are -- going to spend the same amount to skip that and gets and that's just a little bit nicer. At the same time flush metal back to school island style -- had backlit keyboard. All great feature to have in this price range the one thing I thought felt a little cheap though was the key board look at -- in the bit of flex under the fingers. And for fifty inch screen thirteen 66 by 768 resolution. Also kinda gives away the -- budget origins. Interest in the game that you may want higher screen resolution means you -- to -- up. To another while I -- Dan Ackerman and that is the HP pavilion and -- six.
