The Acer Iconia W4 gets a screen upgrade, Bay Trail goodness
-Hey guys, this is Eric Franklin from CNET.com, and today I'm taking a first look at the Acer Iconia W4.
This is a followup to the W3 from earlier this year.
That one had a really disappointing screen, but thankfully, this one, the screen has been upgraded.
The Iconia W4 features the same basic design as a W3, but now includes a much more pleasant-to-look-at IPS screen with a
1280 x 800 resolution.
The tablet ships with Windows 8.1 and includes a Bay Trail Processor.
There's also a micro-USB port, micro-HDMI, and a sim card slot for future cellular version.
The tablet still includes the kind of awkward-to-press Windows button on the front, but at least the screen felt responsive and viewing angles appear to be wide.
We're not 100% sure if the tablet will work with Acer's keyboard accessory for the W3,
but since their designs are so similar, we'd be surprised if they didn't.
There's no confirmed release date but it will hit stores for $299.
Once again, I'm Eric Franklin, and this has been a first look at the Acer Iconia W4.
