Tech to expect in 2015The five most-anticipated gadgets we expect to see in 2015.
[MUSIC] With 20014 behind us, it's time to peek into the new year and see what's coming up. I'm Donald Bell and in this top five, I'm counting down five of the best reasons that gadget fans should get excited for 2015. Starting off at number five, 4K TVs worth buying. Sure we had some great 4K TVs in 2014, but they were either crazy expensive or not worth your time. This year we should see prices come down on the good stuff. We're also see more broadcasters and services supporting 4K content. At number four, the self driving car, sort of, maybe. With any luck, the California DMV should have the rules in place for use of autonomous vehicles as early as January, leaving many fractures racing to fill the market. Now most auto makers have promised a timeline of around 2020, but Tesla says they'll have a 90% autonomous car ready to sell in 2015. It could be posturing. But, if they do it, that's gonna be a test drive you won't forget. Coming in at number three, Apple Watch. Now, this is a sure bet. One of the first smart watches to capture popular attention should hit the market early in 2015. If it succeeds, it will break open a whole new industry of must-have wearables. But, if Apple can't make it work. This may be the moment where we finally come to our senses. Google Glass, never forget. And number two, a Google project I am actually really excited to try. Project Ara, Google's vision for a modular Android phone. This could be the last phone you ever buy. From here on out, you just swap out and upgrade parts as you need them. It could disrupt the entire smartphone industry or maybe it will just die a quiet death. But you can bet that every gadget geek in the world is gonna wanna check this thing out. And that brings us to the number one most anticipated gadget we're dying to see in 2015, the consumer version of the Oculus Rift. Developers and beta testers have had their turn and now its time for the rest of us. Virtual reality for the masses. Especially now that Facebook's money and marketing is behind them. The official release of the Oculus Rift is going to be a huge deal. So there you go. Five reasons to get excited about the tech we'll see in 2015. But that's just my opinion. You can let me know what you think. I'm @donald on Twitter. And for more top fives like this. Top5.cnet.com. I'm Donald Bell, thanks for watching. [MUSIC]
