Whether it's a card from a business associate or your hairstylist, try using a few handy apps to hold on to valuable contact information. All 3 of these free apps rely on your smart phone or tablet's camera to take a picture of the card so it can add the person as a contact in your address book. But each app offers its own set of features. Card Munch, the business card reader from Linked In, works best if you're already a Linked In member. Once the contact is uploaded, the app will automatically connect you and that person, allowing you full access to their profile. Kim Card boasted it can read 12 different languages and offers to sync your contacts with Gmail and Exchange. You can also share the contact information through text. And finally, Scan Biz Cards will automatically send an e-mail to your new contact with all of your contact info. That's great if you're running short of the actual paper cards.
