Step into the ring with smart punching gloves, Ep. 164
Hey guys, my name is Stephen Beacham, and here's what's happening this week on CNet's crave blog.
Have you ever wondered what youre life would be like if you could experience the world in third person like a video game?
Well, so did the folks at Polish 3D tech education company called mepi.
Using an oculus rift and a couple of GoPros mounted to a pole that you wear on your back, you too can experience your own life in third person perspective.
The cameras mounted on the back pack unit are remote controlled, so the wearer can look around much like the camera positions in a video game.
According to [INAUDIBLE] CEO BCO Barog Barlowski is an interview with 3dprint.com.
Our goal is to develop third person perspective view for use in virtual reality devices, and solve real world problems by using it to help users be more aware of their environment.
The happiness blanket was recently tested by British Airways on flights between London and New York in an limited experiment to see how the airline could help make travelers more happy.
The happy blanket is loaded with fiber optics and connects to a neuro sensor device.
Made by the company mind play which sends signals to the blanket via bluetooth.
The embedded fibre optic in the blanket turn blue when the person is relaxed, and red when a person is anxious giving flight attendants an immediate visual cue as to the passenger's comfort level.
The airline noted that it did detect anxious passengers during take off and landing, but once settled travelers usually calmed down especially when the in flight meal was being served.
Now you can visit South Park by way of virtual reality or web browser thanks to the good people at the production company Tool.

IPunch are possibly the world's first smart combat gloves that can measure the power of your punch.
The gloves contain sensors that work together to measure the force of your punches.
Real data via bluetooth to your Android or iPhone device.
The gloves have two types of sensors in them.
One that measures punch impact and a three axis motion sensor that analyses the type of punches you throw, and they're overall impact force.
The data can be sent in real time, so your coach can provide instant feedback during a training session.
The accompanying iPunch app contains a few training programs for users to train themself.
It also has a versus mode so you can compete against your friends and see who can deliver the most powerful punch.
The I punch gloves are currently seeking funding on Indiegogo, and can be yours for the low price, of $139.
All right guys that's the show, thank you very much for watching.
