Amazon founder Jeff Bezos uses Amazon stocks to fund his outer space race company. Blue Origin is Bezos his rocket company which has been working toward reliable travel to and from Earth orbit but instead of relying entirely on investors to get the company into space Bezos is literally putting his own money where his mouth. This. At the annual Space Symposium in Colorado, Bezos revealed that ever year, he sells off about $1 billion of his own Amazon stock to fund Blue Origin. That's billion. With a b. Considering Bezos recently surpassed Warren Buffet to become the second richest person on earth with a 75 billion dollar fortune. Even Scrooge McDuck could swim in. We're guessing he'll be just fund self funding his space dreams. If it seems like there are a lot of eccentric billionaires obsessed with space travel, that's because there are. Richard Branson owns Virgin Galactic. And Elon Musk founded Space X. It'll still be awhile yet before any of these companies start sending actual tours into space.
