CNET First Look
Sony's rugged ultracompact cameraThe rugged camera that doesn't look rugged, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 is a nice option for those wanting an ultracompact for days by the pool and nights on the town.
Hey. I'm Josh Goldman, Senior Editor with CNET. And this is the look at the Sony Cyber Shot DSC TX20. And this man look like a typical ultra compact camera. In fact here is next to it's (??) the TX56 and you can see there essentially the same size and shape. But, thanks to the TX20 air tight construction it's waterproof to depth in 16 feet. Shockproof to about 5 feet and (discproof?). The thing is...since it's so small the camera can be tough to hold with wet or cold hands and...although I'd like it, it has a slid down cover protecting the lens. It can easily get sand trap behind it and potentially scratch up the body if you're not careful. Also it's lens is in (??) sharp especially off to the side and photo's general looks soft except it's (all sizes?). Otherwise, it's a good camera with lots of features to play with. Both, on land and in water. So if you're looking for a camera you can take anywhere. It's a descent choice. I'm Josh Goldman and that's the Sony Cyber Shot TX20.
