Sony's newest OLED TV is the A8FOLED technology delivers the best picture quality we've ever tested, and Sony's latest, the A8F, brings more conventional styling.
[MUSIC] Hi, I'm David Katzmaier from CNET, and I'm here at CES 2018. We're inside Sony's booth and behind me is the AAF. This is Sony's newest OLED organic LED emitting diode TV. OLED provides the best picture quality we've ever tested. Sonny also has the A1E OLED. That's another OLED TV behind us. The A8F is gonna be a little bit less expensive because its form factor is a little more standard. The TV sits straight up and down where the A1E kinda leans back. But one of the cool things about this set is that it still has Sony's acoustic surface technology. So the screen itself is the speaker. There's no speakers behind the TV shooting out behind you. This case, the sound comes right through the TV screen. Of course, the main thing you care about here is OLED. The TV has super deep blacks, nice bright to produce the best picture we've ever tested. Sony's OLED TV hasn't really improved the picture quality from last year, but that's not a huge deal because it really was spectacular. Another benefit of OLED beyond the image quality is the style, the TV seen from the side is ultra thin. And of course you can hang it on the wall. It barely comes out from the wall. Not as thin as LG's Wallpaper OLED but Sony's is still pretty slick looking. Sony's new AAF OLED is gonna ship this spring. They haven't announced pricing yet. But we expect it to be at least a few hundred dollars cheaper than the A1E. I'm David Katzmaier at Sony's booth CES 2018 for CNET. [MUSIC]
