Silicon Valley represents at Republicans' Rust Belt convention
This is Cleveland Ohio, and we're here high above the Cuyahoga River on the Carter Road Bridge.
And back before there even was a Silicon Valley, Cleveland was pretty much the closest thing going as the home to American industry and manufacturing, and one of the five biggest cities in the country.
Today there's still plenty of technology.
We've got the Sherwin Williams Technology Center right over here on the banks of the river.
There's a start-up scene beginning to take hold.
But this week, Silicon Valley is coming to Cleveland for the Republican National Convention.
Twitter has taken over one of the hippest restaurants in downtown.
Facebook is also setting up its lounge.
And on the final night of the convention, PayPal cofounder and Gawker bankrupter Peter Thiel will take the stage in there at the Quicken Loans Arena.
We're just going to have to wait and find out if he's got a secret plan from Silicon Valley to make Cleveland great again.
