Shuffle songs on an iPad
[ Music ]
>>Donald Bell: Hey, I'm Donald Bell for CNET.com and I'm going to show you how to shuffle music playback on an iPad. The ability to quickly create a shuffled mixing of music collections is one of those front and center features on Apple's iPod media players. On the iPad though, it takes a little digging to figure out how to pull it off. First, watch the iPad app here you'll see options for Play, Pause and Skip, buttons for creating play lists and tabs for sorting your music by artist, album, song genre and composer. Which you don't get is a shuffle button. Here's what you do. Select the Song Sort to see all of your songs alphabetically then pull down on the list and you'll uncover a hidden option for Shuffle. The same shuffle option can also be found on any of the Smart Play Lists you have synced to the iPad. To shuffle songs just within an album cue up one of its songs, click on the cover so it goes to full screen, then double tap the Flip It Over and see the song list. Up on the top right corner you'll see a little toggle button for Shuffle. If all that sounds a little convoluted give Apple's Genius Play List feature a try. It's right here on the bottom left corner and it more or less works as an intelligent shuffle that groups together songs that are similar to whatever you have currently playing.
So, that's Shuffle on the iPad, for CNET.com, I'm Donald Bell.
