Samsung's premium-looking gas range costs lessThe $1,699 Samsung Gas Range with True Convection, model number NX58F5700, has a lot to love at a reasonable price.
[MUSIC] Hey there folks. I'm Megan Wollerton here with the Samsung gas range with true convection that's model number NX58S5700. So this gas range costs $1,699. That fits squarely in the mid price range. You can definitely find gas ranges. For under 600 bucks, and you can find others that are over 3,000. And what I've found in this price range so far is some what disappointing design, but when you take a look at this one, it actually looks like a much more premium model. Take the display panel here. A lot of them have sort of a plastic, sort of cheap looking touch pad, but this one actually has a nice. Sort of silvery panel that kind of blends in with the stainless steel finish around it. I really like that. I also think these larger burner controls are a nice touch. They have a sort of professional industrial, almost chef quality to them. Moving past design, I also really liked some of the additional. Features of this range offers. For instance it has a bread proof, a dehydrate and defrost mode. It comes with a wok insert that you can stick on the cooktop and also a griddle for frying up your favorite breakfast treats. And it has a 5.8 cubic foot oven capacity which is way bigger than the Electrolux EI30 [MUSIC] GS 3.5JS that I reviewed recently. This range also performed quite well. I roasted a whole chicken. I made hamburgers and I baked a ton of biscuits, and everything came out pretty well. The only real issue with it was its speed. It wasn't the fastest performer out of some of the other models we tested. Specifically, it ranked in the middle in terms of boiling water. And broiling hamburgers, so it wasn't exactly a disappointment, but it didn't exceed expectations either. It performed well, it looks more expensive than it is, and it has the features to match. Thanks for watching this review of the Samsung gas range with true convection model number NX58F5700. Be sure to check out the rest of our large appliance coverage on cnet.com.
