-Welcome to Tap That App.
I'm Jason Parker and this is the show where we cover the hottest apps in the mobile space.
This week, we're showing off a new iPad game that might be too hot to miss, if you can handle the somewhat high price tag.
It's called "Robokill: Rescue Titan Prime." Formerly an online Flash game that has been converted and optimized for playing on the iPad and it's definitely worth checking out.
Though there are many dual stick shooters on the iPhone and iPad, "Robokill: Rescue Titan Prime" has been made exclusively for the iPad to give you plenty of room to use the on-screen controls, and still be able to see all the action.
When you start out, your attack robot, or Mecha, only has a couple of weapons and no cash to buy more.
But as you start exploring your first map, you'll have plenty of opportunity to blow away evil robots and make some money.
Each map has an ultimate goal, but there are always several side missions to complete to clear out levels, grab keys to open locked doors, and blow away
several types of bad guys.
Once you have some money saved up, you can visit the shop to buy upgraded guns for your arm- and shoulder-mounted armament slots, sell old equipment, and modify your robot with extra shields and health packs.
You get several guns to choose from that let you experiment with various load outs on your 4 separate armament slots.
Everything from machine guns, shot guns, and grenade launchers can be used, and different types of enemies will require a varied combination of weapons to make sure you stay alive and complete your mission.
"Robokill: Rescue Titan Prime" offers more than 450 levels of shoot-'em-up game play, incredibly smooth controls, and enough game variation and upgrades to keep you coming back for more.
The $7.99 price tag might keep a few people from pulling the trigger on this game, but you can get a lite version for free to get a feel for the action before you spend your money.
But even with the heavy price tag, it's not hard to recommend you tap this app right away.
That's it for this week's show.
