Polk's Signa S1 sound bar sounds expensive but isn'tThe Polk Signa S1 is a budget sound bar which offers excellent music replay and features that are unusual for the money.
The Polk Signa S1 is what you would call a cheap sound bar. But with this many features, this kind of sound quality, this kind of design it sure doesn't seem like one. For $180 the Signa S1 gets you a 35-inch sound bar, which comes with wireless subwoofer. Most competitors don't even have a sub at all. The sound bar offers a bluetooth connection, optical/digital for connecting to a TV, and a 3.5 milimeter auxiliary input. The speaker is two inches tall which means it shouldn't block your remote control from working. If you're one of the few people who warm out their TVs then you'll be pleased to hear the Signa S1 is also war manable. The remote that comes with the unit is one you'd normally see from sound bars twice the price. And it controls all the main functions well. Sound quality for the money is unexpectedly good. We started playing music through the Signa S1 and were impressed by how natural it sounded. If you want a sound bar for music replay, this would be the one we'd get for the money. If you want something that will make big boom noises for home theatre though, it wouldn't be our first choice Even with the sub, it's a little tame sounding with action movies. However thanks to companies like Polk, buying a cheap sound bar no longer means terrible. The excellent Signa S1 is hopefully the start of an even bigger trend.
