[ Music ] >> Hi I'm senior editor David Katzmaeir, from CNET.com and I'm with the Panasonic TH50PF9UK. As you can see this TV is a really sparse looking, almost minimalist style, a round the edge there is a gray border here that's relatively thin and of course a black on the inside of that and buts the picture itself and that's pretty much all there is to this television, its just picture. Feature wise there isn't really too much to talk about, there is a good array of picture controls including user menu controls for color temperature and a couple of other esoteric controls, but in terms of actual features there's really not much, although we do have picture in picture on this TV, which is kind of a nice feature if you want to look at two programs at once. Again the stand itself is extra here, there is another kind of stand and get as opposed to this pedestal stand there is also a wider stand. And of course you can also hang this plasma on the wall like you can with other plasmas. Speaking of connectivity, there is another unique feature in the set, as we said you can upgrade the inputs so right here I have an HDMI module which you are going to have to pay extra for if you want to add to the set and it just lies right into the back here. You can screw it in an upgrade any of the connectivity that way. When we took the Panasonic into the lab we found a lot of things to like about its picture quality. First and foremost it has excellent black levels; it can produce a very nice deep color of black which is very important for home theater picture quality. On the flip side its color accuracy wasn't quite as good as we've seen on another competing high end 50 inch 1080P plasma but it was still pretty darn good. And of course with all those pixels, the picture was very sharp. Anyway that's a quick look at the Panasonic TH50PF9UK and I'm David Katzmaeir. ^M00:01:43 [ Music ]
