Notion is a great idea in need of better executionNotion tries to be your all-in-one smart home monitor, but it can't quite follow through on its lofty promises.
[MUSIC] I really like the idea of Notion. It's an all in one sensor that can tell you if your door is open or closed. And it can sense leaks, and it can listen for smoke alarms. Set up is simple. Pair sensors with this bridge via the app, then you can use it to monitor what you want. So in theory, it can monitor your door and watch for leaks At the same time in practice notion isn't that great of a multi tasker. With the app, you can tell each sensor what to monitor but a sensor can't lodge a door and listen for smoke alarms at the same time for example, the app simply won't let you. When you setup a sensor as a door monitor, you can't have it watch for at least as well but the app has you put it above the knob at the top of the door for best results I'm pretty sure if there's a lead, you're gonna notice it by the time it gets up there. Notion's kind of expensive, $220 for a three pack of sensors in the bridge, and $50 for each additional sensor. It also doesn't work with any other smart home platform. Nest and It are on the way but not yet. So notion's got a great idea here But the system to get better at multitasking and work with a few more smart home platforms before recommend a purchase.
